| Just Like Old Times: The Legends Celebrate the "C" League Championship at Brothers Tavern |
(8/3/2005) The Phillipino MacGyvers put years of Legends' tournament
futility to rest Wednesday night with a pair of solid victories
to clinch the 2005 Northbrook Park District Summer "C" League
Championship. Powered by the spectacular pitching of Legends'
postseason MVP Kerry Walls, and assisted by the stellar defensive
play of Barry Goldman and Justin Hesse, the Legends made nine
runs stand up in each game, winning
9-3 in the semifinal vs. #7 seed XGBN and winning
9-6 in the championship game over #1 seed Rocky Vanders.
